Navistar, Inc. Senior Research & Development Vehicle Test Site Manager in Commerce City, Colorado
Position Overview
Navistar's Research and Development Vehicle Testing Facility, located in Commerce City, Colorado, is currently seeking a Senior Research & Development Vehicle Test Site Manager. The Vehicle Testing Facility is one of our primary test facilities for gathering information to validate new designs and technologies that impact the next generation Navistar busses and Class 6 through 8 trucks that will be on the road in the next few years.
The Senior R&D Vehicle Test Site Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operations for our 15k square foot facility located on 3 acres. In this position you will work directly with various groups within the Test Site to provide operational guidance and solutions in several key areas. These areas include: budget, capital spending, facilities, management of resources, staffing, materials and coordination of fleet assets and scheduling.
The Research & Development Vehicle Test Site Manager will report to the Senior R&D Operations Chief Engineer. This position will oversee between 8-10 direct employees and 20-30 contract commercial drivers.
Responsibilities
Directs the activities of a field test center to meet R&D milestone goals, quality and cost objectives
Prioritizes schedules based on program directives, equipment efficiency, and materials supply
Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and upgrades for the Test Site’s facility and grounds
Plans and administers financial budgets
Makes budgetary recommendations and may control capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor needs for the facility
Develops schedules and workforce requirements
Determines staffing needs, hiring plans, staff selection, development and growth
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
At least 10 years of operations management experience
At least 4 years of management experience
OR
Master’s degree
At least 8 years of operations management experience
At least 4 years of management experience
OR
At least 12 years of operations management experience
At least 4 years of management experience
Additional Requirements
Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Benefits and Compensation
Navistar provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The annual salary range for this role is $121K – 150K a year.
