Position Overview

Navistar is looking to add a Project Manager - Technology to their team in Tulsa!

The Project Manager - Technology, manages people who lead cross-functional teams that are focused on the delivery of a product or service from design to release for customers. Develops, defines and executes project plans, schedules, budgets and deliverables. Identifies needed resources for projects, defines and assigns major project roles. Monitors the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with external customers or field-based employees on technical matters, as needed. Assigns and monitors work of project/program management staff, providing technical support and direction. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

This position will work Monday-Thursday 6:30am to 5pm and Friday from 7am to 11am.

Responsibilities

  • Manages professionals or through supervisors the coordination of the activities of a section/department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing. Accountable for the performance and results of a team/group within own discipline/function.

  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan.

  • Manages teams with focus on policy and strategy implementation and control; has short-term operational/tactical responsibilities.

  • Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities.

  • Exercises full management authority, including performance reviews, pay decisions, recruitment, discipline, termination, and other personnel actions.

  • Frequently interacts with supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company.

  • Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team. Addresses issues with impact beyond own team/group based on knowledge of related disciplines.

  • In rare instances, may be responsible for a functional area only without direct employee management; functional area responsibility includes fiscal accountability or budgetary control.

  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.

  • Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).

  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 8 years of technical project/program management experience

  • At least 2 years of management experience

OR

  • Master’s degree

  • At least 6 years of technical project/program management experience

  • At least 2 years of management experience

OR

  • At least 10 years of technical project/program management experience

  • At least 2 years of management experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Desired Skills

  • Understanding of Peoplesoft management, purchase orders, invoicing, reporting

  • Creating and presenting Capital Appropriations Requests

  • Managing large scale, multi-discipline projects

  • Creation, management and reporting of long- and short-range timing plans in MasterDOT or similar formatMicrosoft Project experience (or other Project Scheduling software)

  • Technical writing and communication skills

  • Budget and schedule management experience

  • AutoCAD or other drafting program experience

  • Reading and understanding of technical documents
